WoW: In the Shadowlands, Father of Lilian Voss was discovered
A resident of Azeroth is allowed to enter the Shadowlands after they die. It's not surprising that players continue to encounter familiar, deceased characters from World of Warcraft, in the World of Death. High Priest Benedictus Voss is now part of the Shadowlands' cast.
Benedictus Voss and his Afterlife in Shadowlands
Horde players are most familiar with Benedictus Voss as the father of Lilian Voss. The Scarlet Crusade's High Priest and highest-ranking officer in Tirisfal gained fame for brutally training his daughter to become a weapon against the Scourge.
Anyone who creates an undead character on WoW (buy now 14,99 EUR) will meet Lilian Voss. She has been resurrected by the Valkyr as a Forsaken since Cataclysm and is located in the Forsaken start area. She refuses to accept her new life as an undead. She flees Death's End in order to find her father. We are assigned to chase after her. We eventually discover that her father has disowned her as "no longer an one of us" and wants her executed. We rescue Lilian and she eventually seeks revenge.
We follow Lilian to Poisonweaver Valley, where she will be staying with her father, as part of the quest "Embrace of a Daughter". We kill Benedictus Voss with Lilian and usher in her new (in-)life as one the Horde's most prominent fighters.
Unsurprisingly, Benedictus Voss finds himself in Shadowlands after his death. He can be found in the Desmotaeron, in the Maw where he stews in a cell. It is not clear how Voss got there. The machinery of death still worked when he died. It is possible that he came to Revendreth first and didn't want to atone there for his sins. He was then banished to the Maw. It is unlikely that Voss was thrown directly into the Maw. There is no evidence that any Azeroth resident was so evil that he was denied the opportunity to repent in Revendreth. Even Garrosh was not allowed to go to Revendreth.
